You've probably heard photographers say things like "If you want to get better in photography, you had better start taking pictures" and "Get to know the gear you already have. Better equipment doesn't give you better photos". As fun as new toys are, they're probably right.
The reason for saying stuff like this is that a good photo needs a vision. Among the various hobbies and passions of mine, photography is the only one where I feel I can most easily share my vision with others. Without a vision, the photographer is without direction. If you don't get to see it, you can't shoot it. An expensive camera isn't going to get you very far if you haven't the slightest idea at what you are looking at.
As for my own vision, I am driven by a desire to capture personality. If you have a story to tell, I want to hear it. If your wedding has a message, its photos shouldn't need a caption to describe it. If you fear that you have a 'bad side', allow me to show you your great side.
Whoever you may be, I would love to hear from you.
